New Beginnings
life, the restIt’s a little quiet in the Alannah Rose studio today. My youngest daughter has started school. I miss her terribly, her happy smile, crazy laughter and lovely company, my baby isn’t a baby anymore, gosh how time flies! It only seems like yesterday when my eldest daughter was a little bub kicking on the floor and the idea for Alannah Rose was born. Now both girls are growing at a rapid rate, and their smiles, laughter and cuddles bring joy to my heart every day.
Not only that, the business is growing too. We’ve worked with some gorgeous people over the last 6.5 years, and we’re looking forward to working with lot’s more this year. With more time on our hands, and some great new staff, we’re aiming on making Alannah Rose bigger and better than ever.
The goal is more blog posts, more inspiration and loads more new designs. Service will remain at premium, because of course if you’re not happy, neither are we!
So a toast to new beginnings, I hope 2012 is a lovely one for all!

Pretty Pastels {and polka dots}
alannah rose new designs, inspiration boards, the rest, weddingsToday’s inspiration features a rainbow of pretty pastels. The sky is the limit with a a theme like this, mix and match your colours and introduce pattern if you wish. We’ve used our Mademoiselle Polka Dot Wedding Invitation as a base and customised it to a pastel palette.

Pretty Little Chatterbox
the restI love looking at visual merchandising displays, if you work in retail – I’m the one closely inspecting your windows instead of the wares in the store! (ok I look in the store too, but that’s another topic).
When we were in New York earlier this year, we spent some quality time in Anthropologie, I would have to say that it’s one of my favourite stores, not only for their gorgeous stock, but their displays were stunning.
These little lovelies were part of their window display when we were there, there were masses of them all set up on branches. On close inspection they’re made up of the old style ‘chatterbox’ paper fortune folds– remember those? Then glued to a paper lantern with a light inside – so clever and effective, would be equally as pretty as part of wedding or party decorations!
