A little fairy Princess {emily’s fairy party}
alannah rose parties, parties, the restMy lovely friend Kerrin hosted this pretty fairy party for her daughter’s 4th Birthday using our Little Fairy Princess Party Invitations and Lolly Bag Tags.
I love the addition of green to the pink and white colour palette, so pretty and perfect for a sunny spring day. The children were entertained by Fairy Rainbow Sparkle and feasted on fairy fare.
Congrats Kerrin on such a beautiful party!
Alannah Rose {wedding} ~ Kelly & Nico ~ Vintage Black and White
alannah rose weddings, weddingsAnother beautiful black and white themed wedding for you today, also using our gorgeous Hollywood Nights vintage wedding invitations.
Kelly and Nico were married in Noosa on Friday 24th April 2009. Having lived in Switzerland for the last few years, Kelly wanted to travel home to be married. The elegant setting of The Plantation in Cooroy, Queensland was chosen to celebrate their nuptials. Kelly’s father had been restoring a vintage car and the 1924 Delage became the inspiration behind the sophisticated vintage theme of their wedding day.
Kelly’s stunning gown by internationally revered hollywood designer Jenny Packham, was embellished with intricate beading and was accessorised with a soft floral bouquet by Liz at A Sculpted Leaf.

“My father and his friend had spent five years restoring this beautiful automobile so being driven to the ceremony in it was a special part of my day,” says Kelly.
The Catholic ceremony took place in a very private area close to Noosa Beach. The ceremony was witnessed by 50 of their closest family and friends from both Europe and Australia.
“We decided on Noosa for our wedding destination, not only because we love the area, but we also thought it was the most amazing location to really ‘show off’ Australia to our overseas family and friends.” says Kelly
The beautiful gardens of The Plantation, set the scene for the exquisite reception. Long reception tables were decorated with vintage style roses in soft pinks and a soft romantic setting was achieved with the help of a beautiful marquee. The beautiful wedding cake was created by Cake Conversations.
The beaches of Noosa provided the backdrop for their wedding photography by Jodi Mc Donald.
Twelve months on, Kelly & Nico now have a beautiful baby girl. Congratulations Kelly & Nico and thanks so much for sharing your day with us! x

Sunday Find ~ The {perfect} Mascara
life, sunday findsI’m pretty excited about today’s find – I’ve long be searching for a perfect mascara, I’ve tried quite a few different ones, they clump, they flake, all of these things that you don’t want to happen on a daily basis, let alone on your wedding day!
Sooo, finally I think I’ve found the perfect one! Kevin Aucoin’s Curling Mascara. (also available is a volumizing one). I purchased it this week from Mecca Cosmetica, and I love it! It glides on, no clumping and it doesn’t budge – I work long hours and have two small children, I rub my eyes a bit… you get what I mean. I highly recommend trying it out.
You can find Kevyn Aucoin Mascara in Australia at Mecca Cosmetica.
Alannah Rose {wedding} ~ Danielle & David ~ Butterfly Garden Wedding Stationery
alannah rose weddings, weddingsToday’s beautiful wedding is that of Danielle & David – I love these pictures, the day is full of so much happiness and love, the essence of what weddings are all about.
Danielle and David were married on March 14 at Quaff in Toorak Village.
Their wedding theme was black & white with a touch of pink. Our Butterfly Garden wedding invitations and stationery suited this perfectly and tied in well with Danielle’s butterfly brooch – a gift from her late grandmother – which became a special symbol of the day.
“My Grandmother was so excited her eldest grandchild was getting married, however she was sick with cancer and when I gave her the invite, she asked me to describe my dress. When I mentioned about the brooch, she said that would be my gift for the wedding from her. Unfortunately she passed away a couple of weeks later. So, the celebrant made special mention of that also being a symbol of my wedding, the butterfly and the brooch. And so I had my bonbonierre which was a bottle stopper in the shape of a butterfly and my bubbles had a butterfly on them also.” says Danielle
Danielle’s dress by L’Amour Bridal Boutique had an elegant black sash which her butterfly brooch sat on, and the black halter neck bridesmaids gowns were by Black Rose. The touch of pink was added to the stunning floral bouquets by Say it with Flowers.
The cake – a delicious array of white chocolate cupcakes iced in black and white by Cherrytree were a hit with guests and further complimented the black and white wedding theme.

“I loved the whole day. From getting ready with my bridesmaids at mums, going to the ceremony with Dad in the lovely Bentley, arriving at Quaff, and the anticipation of entering the room to see it filled with people we love and care about and of course seeing my husband to be. And all the speeches were lovely and my MC was a girlfriend’s husband who was absolutely fantastic and had everyone laughing and joining in. And the rest of the evening was just a lovely party with people chatting and dancing all through the night. I almost had to be dragged out to leave but our gift from one of the bridesmaids, a night at The Westin, was definitely worth leaving for and we had a lovely time there.” says Danielle
Congratulations Danielle and David on a truly gorgeous wedding day, thanks so much for sharing with us. xx
Sunday Find ~ Capital {kitchen}
life, sunday findsOk, so today’s find isn’t really a new find for me, – I’ve pretty much been a frequent diner since they opened – but it’s one I thought I’d share as it’s such a cold day in Melbourne today, Capital Kitchen really is the perfect place for a cold lazy Sunday.
I love good food and good coffee and Capital Kitchen never disappoints me – relatively new at Chadstone, this gorgeous cafe is oozing with charm and atmosphere.

I love the grey, white and yellow colour palette with a rustic vintage feel, and I love how sometimes they change the table decorations – for mothers day they had daffodils in grey gumboots on the tables a simple yet effective idea.
It’s an inspiring space, and the coffee and food are delicious – the poached chicken wrap and the quince and raspberry muffins being my favourites. The kids love the $5.00 milkshake and cookie deal and a cup of yellow jellybeans on the way out the door is always a treat.
Happy Sunday!
